The Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps is a Government Organisation and a Paramilitary Agency which was formed in Nigeria on May 16, 1967 as an offshoot of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO). In 2003, the former President Olusegun Obasanjo signed the bill establishing it, and it was passed by the National Assembly The mandates of NSCDC includes:  Protection of Critical National Assets and infrastructures such as NNPC Petroleum pipelines and other oil installations, power installations, communications installations, railway tracks, bridges, roads, water installation etc..  To license, supervise, train and monitor the operations of Private Guard companies  To manage crisis situation and efficiently carry out disaster management functions through search and rescue, rehabilitation, re-integration as well as mitigation of emergency  Establishment of the Agro-Rangers unit to provide physical security for all Agro-allied investments....more
